In February 2023, the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation organized a gala to celebrate the 150-year legacy of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Guests gathered in the San Francisco City Hall to honor the impressive milestone and raise funds for “Hearts in SF” and “Hearts After Dark”.

In partnership with Peridot Productions, teams of A3 Visual created a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere using lighting and video mapping. The iconic rotunda of the city hall was mapped using 1 x 30K Panasonic projector, allowing to showcase eye-catching animations and engage guests in an immersive, audio-visual experience. The centerpiece of the projection was a digital heart featuring the artwork of local artists.

At certain points of the event, a 18’x10’ fabric screen was rolled out at the top of the staircase and used to display presentations through 1 x 20K Panasonic projector, surrounded by two monitors.

The projectors and monitors were powered by the Modulo Kinetic media server by Modulo Pi. The system helped animate the city hall rotunda with the projection mapping. It was also key to smoothly run a variety of elements on the presentation screen and side monitors, including videos, PowerPoint presentations, and camera feeds. “I wrote out the entire task list in Modulo Kinetic. Each task had 9 to 10 subtasks in it” explains Sean Mason, Chief Creative Officer at A3 Visual. “There were so many things that needed to happen simultaneously on one button push. I couldn’t have done it without Modulo Kinetic.”
